What Is Elbow and Knee Volume Loss?

While the face and body get much attention, fewer people are aware of the signs of aging that can appear around their elbows and knees. These joints are highly articulated, which provides great ranges of motion, but it also means the skin around those joints is put under a great deal of daily stress. Every time someone bends their knees or elbows, the skin is pushed and pulled. Over time, this can result in the skin becoming thinner, looser, or overall more aged. At Aesthetic Beauty, we provide several solutions to restore volume loss and skin concerns around the elbows and knees.

Non-Surgical Volume Restoration Options

Biostimulators vis Cannula

Precise injection of biostimulators can stimulate the body’s regenerative response. The process is similar to receiving dermal fillers, but this treatment does more than simply fill out the volume of the treated area. Our biostimulators use a formula with either calcium hydroxylapatite or poly-L-lactic acid, each designed to trigger the body’s own mechanisms. These biostimulators integrate into the surrounding tissue and activate collagen production, which is key for seeing more youthful, firmer skin.

Microneedling

Microneedling treatment involves your specialist using a device to create many small punctures along the treated area. The treatment is comfortable though, as we first numb the area with a special cream to prevent any pain. These punctures are small enough to be barely noticeable while still triggering the body’s response to a wound. This response involves repairing the area by replacing old cells and producing new collagen. This gives the treatment its other name, collagen induction therapy. This creates overall improvements in the skin’s tone, texture, and appearance, making microneedling excellent for treating elbow and knee volume loss. The treatment can also be effective for cosmetic concerns such as wrinkles, acne scars, pores, hyperpigmentation, and more across multiple body areas.

Is a Non-Surgical Elbow Tightening Right for Me?

Choosing a non-surgical approach is often the ideal solution for patients. These gentle treatments work with the body’s natural abilities rather than making aggressive surgical changes. The results look and feel natural, with no scarring or signs of having had treatment (other than excellent results). If you have cosmetic concerns about the skin around your knees or elbows, then one of our tightening treatments could be right for you.

The first step is to book a consultation with our specialist and go over your goals. Our cosmetic specialist can then explore your treatment options with you, providing clear, complete information about each available treatment. Together, you can build a personalized treatment plan that involves biostimulators, microneedling, or a combination of both.

Is There a Recovery Period?

Our non-surgical treatments provide gentler care without the need for extended downtime. While microneedling can lead to minor side effects, such as redness or mild swelling, these are normal and typically resolve within days. Many patients find them mild enough that they can still go about their full routines without any inconvenience. For biostimulators via cannula, patients may have very mild swelling or bruising around the injection site, but this also fades within a couple of days. However, we do provide patients with post-treatment instructions to ensure they do not irritate the treatment sites. These instructions are simple and involve steps like avoiding abrasive skin products, excess sun exposure, or other irritants.

Non-Surgical Elbow Tightening Results

While our elbow tightening treatment options can produce results after a single session, the final results are a gradual process. As the body continues to produce new collagen, patients can expect to see gradual improvements. Some patients may see the best results after a regimen of a few sessions, depending on the extent of their symptoms and the concerns they want to address. During your consultation, your specialist can provide you with a tailored outline for what results you can expect and a timeline of when to expect them.
